Cortney was born in Jewett City, Connecticut, and made the move to Tennessee with her family at the age of 10. She now calls Lebanon, TN home. From a young age, Cortney felt a strong connection to animals and knew she wanted to dedicate her life to helping them. During high school, she actively volunteered at local animal shelters, where she gained hands-on experience caring for animals of all ages, from tiny kittens to senior pets in need of extra love and attention.

Cortney joined the Blue Oasis Pet Hospital team in December of 2023. She was drawn to the practice not only because of its reputation for excellence, but also for its AAHA accreditation and commitment to Fear Free practices. The clinic's focus on strengthening the human-animal bond aligned perfectly with Cortney’s own values and goals in veterinary medicine. She is excited to continue growing her skill set alongside a team that shares her passion and dedication to compassionate care.

Outside of work, Cortney enjoys spending her free time near the water—whether it's relaxing at the pool or lake and enjoying a quiet day outdoors. She is also a talented, award-winning quilter and proudly carries on the tradition as a third-generation quilter. At home, Cortney’s love for animals continues with her own little zoo, which includes her cat Whiski, her dog Pete, her turtles Yoshi and Yertle, and a lively collection of fish.
